Gospel singer Chidinma Ekile has shared details of a powerful spiritual journey she embarked on after returning from the United States. Determined to seek clarity and direction from God, Chidinma committed herself to 40 days of prayer and fasting on a mountain an experience she described as both divine and deeply challenging.
She recounted sleeping outside under the open sky and dedicating herself entirely to prayer, worship, and solitude. The journey, she said, involved intense emotional pain, spiritual struggle, and a personal transformation that tested her faith.
Chidinma revealed that during one of the nights on the mountain, she faced a terrifying moment. As she stood near a cliff, she heard a strong, dark voice urging her to jump. She admitted that she nearly obeyed, overwhelmed by the experience. However, something invisible stopped her an unseen force that she believes represented divine intervention.
“The devil led me to the edge of the mountain, where it was completely dark. A strong voice told me to jump. I was ready to do it,” she explained. “But something invisible barricaded me. I couldn’t move forward. God stopped me.”
Describing the overall journey, she said it felt like being in a spiritual theatre where God performed surgery on her soul. She noted that her outlook on life changed completely, and material possessions no longer hold meaning for her.
“God is not looking for perfect people,” she added. “I’ve seen it all. He shredded me and rebuilt me.”
