Early Life
Adejumoke Aderounmu was born on 26 March 1984 in Abeokuta, Ogun State, into a family of five. She attended St. Bernadette’s Private Schools and Abeokuta Girls’ Grammar School before earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
She completed her national youth service in Gombe State. In 2017, she obtained certification in Filmmaking and Acting from La CinéFabrique in Lyon, France, after winning a Ford Foundation scholarship through AFRIFF.
Career
Adejumoke Aderounmu began her professional acting journey in 2008 with a role in Tunde Kelani’s film Arugba. She later gained public attention for her role in Dazzling Mirage and established herself with over ten film credits. She also worked as a presenter on Box Office TV and Concert Radio. In 2012, she produced and hosted her own entertainment show, The Lounge with Jumoke.
She also played significant roles in Industreet and Alakada 2, acting alongside top industry names such as Funke Akindele, Toyin Abraham, and Odunlade Adekola.
Adejumoke never married. She passed away on 6 April 2024 at the age of 40, leaving behind a legacy of talent, creativity, and inspiration in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Though her life was tragically cut short in April 2024, Adejumoke left behind a body of work that continues to inspire a new generation of performers and fans across Nigeria and beyond.
