Charles Ugochukwu Born was born on 9 October 1991, hailing from Orlu in Imo State, Nigeria. He is Igbo by tribe and was raised in a Christian family. He studied Information Science at Madonna University, Okija, between 2011 and 2015, completing his mandatory National Youth Service Corps programme in 2016 before beginning his career in media.
Career
Charles Born began his career as a TV personality, event host and broadcaster before moving into content creation, where his humorous skits and honest Nollywood movie reviews earned him a large social media following. He became one of the hosts of ‘Shade Corner,’ a talk show on Accelerate TV, joining the programme’s sixth season alongside Amanda Nwoye, Ayo Lawal, Samuel Onot Eku and Tolu Thompson. As a successful MC, he has covered shows and events both in Nigeria and overseas.
In 2024, Charles Born made a decisive move to commit fully to acting, resigning from radio despite limited financial resources at the time, a leap of faith he has since described as the turning point in his career.
