Early Life

Emmanuel Ogonna Iwueke, professionally known as Craze Clown, was born on 24 December 1991 to Godwin Uchenna Iwueke, who hails from Imo State, and Grace Acheche, who hails from Edo State. He is the third of five children. He completed his secondary education at St Thomas Secondary School in Kano before pursuing a lengthy academic journey across several institutions, including Delta State University, the University of Maiduguri and the University of Ghana, Legon, before finally earning a degree in Medicine from Kharkiv National Medical University in Ukraine, graduating in 2017 after nearly a decade of study.

Career

Craze Clown began his comedy career in 2013, creating short skits on Facebook that quickly grew popular. He became known for his character “Papa Ade,” built around exaggerated, comedic portrayals of an African father’s relationship with his son, a role he shares with fellow performer OG Tega. As one of the early pioneers of Instagram comedy in Nigeria, Craze Clown helped shape the format that would go on to define an entire generation of Nigerian skit-making.

He has since expanded into music and further content ventures, and is recognised alongside contemporaries including Taaooma, Sydney Talker, Josh2Funny, Maraji and Mr Macaroni as one of the most influential figures in Nigeria’s modern comedy-skit industry. Notably, Craze Clown balanced his growing comedy career with completing his medical degree, ultimately becoming a qualified doctor while continuing to build his entertainment brand.

Personal Life

Craze Clown lost his father in 2015. He survived a serious car accident on his wife’s birthday, an incident that drew concern and well wishes from fans across social media.

With a career spanning comedy, medicine and content creation, Craze Clown remains one of the pioneering figures of Nigeria’s Instagram comedy movement.
