Early Life

Jim Iyke was born in Libreville, Gabon, to parents from Ogwugwu Village in Enugwu-Agidi, Anambra State. He is the only son among eight children. His family later changed their surname from Okolue to Esomugha. He attended Federal Government College, Kwali in Abuja from 1985 to 1991. He went on to earn a diploma in Banking and Finance and a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of Jos in Plateau State.

Career

Jim Iyke began his acting career in 1998 and quickly became one of the most in-demand actors in Nollywood. By 2013, he was regarded as one of the highest-paid actors in the industry and had appeared in over 150 films. Known for his intense screen presence and charisma, he has carved out a lasting legacy in Nigerian cinema.

In 2007, he also launched his own production company, Untamed Productions, which allowed him to create and star in his own projects. He also founded a music label, Untamed Records, and released an album titled Who Am I?, featuring collaborations with top Nigerian artists like TuFace Idibia and Sound Sultan.

In April 2019, Jim Iyke announced the birth of his son, marking a new chapter in his personal journey.
