Early Life
Olumide Oworu attended King’s College in Lagos before proceeding to the University of Lagos. He later completed his higher education at Babcock University, graduating in June 2017. He began his acting career at the age of six, appearing in the popular Nigerian television series Everyday People, which introduced him to a national audience.
Career
Over the years, Olumide has built a versatile career in film and television. He gained widespread popularity for his portrayal of Tari in the Africa Magic sitcom The Johnsons. He has also featured in several other television productions including The Patriot, The Men In Her Life, Hammer, Stolen Waters, and New Son. His role as Weki in seasons 3 and 4 of MTV Baseโs Shuga further showcased his acting range and attracted a younger audience.
Beyond acting, Olumide Oworu has worked as a television presenter and also explored music as a rapper. His talents have earned him numerous awards. He won โMr. Popularityโ in the 2012 Model of Africa contest, โNollywood Revelation of the Yearโ at the 2014 Scream Awards, and โMost Promising Youth Actorโ at the 2014 Ping Awards. In 2015, he received the Best of Nollywood Award for Most Promising Actor, followed by a Best Supporting Actor win at the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards for A Soldierโs Story.
