Early Life

Judy Austin, born Judith Muoghalu Uchechukwu on December 31, 1991, hails from Umuoji in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria. She spent her early years in Anambra, where she completed her primary and secondary education. Judy later earned a degree in Arts from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. While at university, she explored performance arts and began her modeling journey.

Career

Judy began her Nollywood career in the early 2010s with minor roles and modeling engagements. In 2013, after her first marriage ended, veteran actor Sylvester Madu recommended her for a bigger opportunity. She landed a role in The Secret of Witches, which marked her transition to more significant parts in Nollywood.

Her performance in Dancer brought her public attention, and her breakthrough came in 2018 when she starred in and produced Native Girl. That role showcased her versatility and opened the door to lead roles and film production opportunities.

Judy has since acted in over 20 films and produced several, including Fear, Street Girl, and Where I Belong, building a reputation as a hardworking and creative force in the industry.

In 2022, Judy Austin made headlines when she married Nigerian actor and director Yul Edochie as his second wife. The marriage sparked national conversations about polygamy and relationships. Together, they have two sons.
