Early Life

Ruby Ojiakor was born on 25 December 1994 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. She comes from Amaraku village in Isi‑Ala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State. She is the fifth of six children in her family.

Ruby completed her primary and secondary education in Port Harcourt. For higher education, she attended the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) in Enugu State. Her early exposure to dance, creativity, and resilience in a family of modest means nurtured her passion for the arts.

Career

Ruby Ojiakor began her entertainment journey as a dancer and choreographer. A dance film titled “Let’s Dance” became her entry point into show business she choreographed for the film, showcasing her dance skills before transitioning into acting.

Following her choreography work, she moved into acting and quickly built a substantial filmography. Over the years, she appeared in dozens of Nollywood films. Some of her known titles include War Soldiers, Shattered Emotions, Pot of Money, My True Love, and Bloody Sin.

Her on-screen versatility from dramatic roles to emotional depth earned her industry recognition. Notably, she received a nomination for “Most Promising Actress in Nigeria” at the City People Entertainment Awards.

Beyond acting, Ruby extends her influence through philanthropic efforts: she established the Ruby Orjiakor Foundation, using her platform to give back to underprivileged communities.

Her career blends artistry, dance, screen presence, and social impact showing growth from humble beginnings to celebrated Nollywood star.
