Early Life and Education
Segun Arinze was born in Onitsha, Anambra State, to Lydia Padonou and is the eldest of seven children. Though born in the southeast, he hails from Badagry in Lagos State.
He began his education at Victory College of Commerce in Edidi, Kwara State, and completed his secondary education at Taba Commercial College in Kaduna. He went on to study Dramatic Arts at Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Osun State, where he developed a deep passion for acting.
Career
Segun Arinze started his professional journey as a singer, gaining initial recognition with the release of his debut album Dream.
Though the album didn’t achieve commercial success, it opened doors for him in entertainment. He began acting in Ilorin and gradually built a reputation in Nollywood with compelling roles in film and television.
Beyond acting, Segun Arinze also works as an acting coach, mentoring young talents through his involvement with a leading African international film festival. He contributes actively to the growth of the Nigerian film industry by nurturing the next generation of actors.
Segun Arinze was formerly married to Nollywood actress Anne Njemanze, and they have a daughter, Renny Morenike, born on May 10.
