Early Life
Seleye Fubara was born on 24th February, 1983 and hails from Asari Toru Local Government Area in Rivers State. She completed her secondary education at Wisdom International Secondary School and later earned a degree from the University of Port Harcourt.
Growing up in the Kalabari–Ijaw community, she developed a deep connection to her roots and became passionate about telling stories that reflect her heritage.
Career
Seleye Fubara launched her acting career in 2019.he first attracted attention with her role in the movie Space Out, then gained wider recognition after starring in Plagued alongside Bryan Okoye. Over the years, she has featured in multiple films including Swapped Fate (2023), Boss Down, and Out of Control (2023).
Beyond acting, Seleye stepped into film production, determined to spotlight stories from the Ijaw community and promote cinema in the Niger Delta. She relocated from Port Harcourt to Lagos to access broader opportunities while continuing to produce and star in films set in her native region.
Her ambition remains clear: to build a thriving Ijaw film industry that gives voice to underrepresented narratives and offers filmmakers from the Niger Delta a chance to succeed without relocating permanently.
Seleye Fubara represents a new wave of Nigerian actors rooted in cultural identity and driven by purpose. From her humble beginnings in Rivers State to starring and producing films that reflect Ijaw heritage, she continues to carve out a space for herself in Nollywood.
