Nollywood star Biola Adebayo has finally spoken about her relationship status. In a post on Instagram, she revealed that she and her husband, Oluwaseyi Akinrinde, have been separated for over a year.
The post came as she celebrated her ex-husband’s birthday. In the message, she called him her “ex-husband and baby daddy,” and sent him prayers. “I pray you find peace in all your ways,” she wrote. “May God continue to light your path and bless you beyond your expectations.”
Biola Adebayo confirmed the breakup for the first time. “Yes, you heard me right!” she said. The couple ended their marriage in April 2024 but chose to co-parent their son peacefully and respectfully.
To her fans, she expressed regret that things didn’t work out. “I wished it worked, but it’s better to stay alive to tell the story,” she shared. She asked everyone to keep them in their prayers.
The actress also opened up about her emotional struggle over the last year. She said it hasn’t been easy. “My pillow is drenched with my own tears almost every night for the past 14 months,” she wrote. “But I gain strength from Christ, who loves me eternally and gave Himself for me.”

Biola and her ex-husband married in April 2021. They welcomed their first child through surrogacy in April 2023. The couple had a brief courtship before tying the knot, which Biola once explained was because they shared similar values.
