Early Life

Mohammed Usman Adamu, popularly known as Magnito, was born on September 15, 1993, in Abuja, Nigeria. He hails from the Idoma tribe in Benue State.

Magnito spent his early years in Abuja, where he completed his primary and secondary education. He later earned a degree in Business Management from the University of Jos (Unijos) in Plateau State.

Career

Magnito started his music journey in 2010 with the release of his debut single “Medicine Girl.” After a brief hiatus, he returned stronger with the 2016 hit “If I Get Money,” which gained massive traction across Nigeria. The song’s relatable lyrics and catchy beat made it a street anthem. He later teamed up with reggae-dancehall star Patoranking for the remix, which expanded the song’s reach.

His rising popularity led to endorsement deals, including a N20 million contract with Tingo Mobile in 2014 and a multi-million naira deal with Gamespay in 2017. Magnito also signed with Big E Entertainment, a Port Harcourt-based label owned by Eddie Winebar.

Magnito remains one of the few Nigerian rappers blending humor, storytelling, and real-life commentary into a recognizable sound that keeps resonating with fans nationwide.

Magnito’s ability to fuse humor, storytelling, and streetwise wisdom into his music sets him apart in Nigeria’s rap scene. As he continues to evolve, his voice remains both entertaining and impactful—making him a standout figure in modern African music.
