Early Life


Young Jonn was born into a Christian family of Akwa Ibom descent in Ibadan, Oyo State. He attended Ideal Foundation Primary School in Ibadan and later went on to GOF College in Osogbo, Osun State. During his high school years, he developed a passion for basketball, soccer, musical instruments, miming, and dance. He went on to study Communication and Language Arts at the University of Ibadan.

Career


Young Jonn discovered his love for music at a young age, starting with musical instruments. He later formed a group called AVG with his brothers before signing with Hit Factory Studio in 2012.

At Hit Factory, he produced Olamide’s chart-topping single “Story For The Gods” and gained widespread recognition. In 2015, he earned a nomination for “Producer of the Year” at The Headies for his work on Olamide’s hit “Bobo.”

Jonn has produced iconic tracks like “Gbese” and “Efejoku” by Lil Kesh, “Biggest Backside” by Davido, and contributed to albums such as The Baddest by Davido, 2 Kings by Olamide and Phyno, and Eyan Mayweather by Olamide.

In 2022, Young Jonn signed with Chocolate City and dropped his first extended play, Love Is Not Enough (Vol. 1), featuring the hit “Dada.” He followed up with Love Is Not Enough (Vol. 2) in October 2022, which included the remix of “Dada,” along with tracks like “Normally,” “Next to You,” “Xtra Cool,” “If You Leave,” and “Sokoto”.
