Early Life

Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, known professionally as Mr Eazi, was born on 19 July 1991 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. He relocated to Kumasi, Ghana, in 2008 to study at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, where he began booking artists to perform at college parties, an early step into the music business.

Career

Mr Eazi’s interest in performing grew after recording a guest verse on “My Life,” a song that gained traction around campus. He released his debut mixtape, “About to Blow,” in July 2013, and found a wider international audience with the Efya-assisted single “Skin Tight.” He is widely credited as the pioneer of Banku music, a sound he describes as blending Ghanaian highlife with Nigerian chord progressions and patterns.

His second mixtape, “Life Is Eazi, Vol. 1: Accra to Lagos,” followed in 2017, and he went on to release his debut studio album, “The Evil Genius,” on 27 October 2023, featuring contributions from producers including Andre Vibez and Kel-P. He has continued releasing new music into 2026, including “Dance Pon Me” for the Detty December season and “Lambo,” a 2026 collaboration with Jamaican dancehall star Vybz Kartel, produced by Dre Skull, announced alongside a forthcoming mixtape, “Yard & Yanga.”

Beyond music, Mr Eazi founded emPawa Africa, a platform supporting emerging African artists, and has built a significant business portfolio spanning entertainment, gaming and technology through his company Choplife, which relocated its operations to Nigeria’s Itana digital free zone in August 2026. In August 2026, he told Nairametrics he intends to pursue a future listing of a technology company on the Nigerian Exchange, citing Aliko Dangote and Femi Otedola among his inspirations. He also continues to support betPawa’s Locker Room Bonus initiative, which pays footballers across eight African countries directly, and pledged $2 million toward new live event venues in Accra in early 2026. Earlier in 2026, he and emPawa Africa were drawn into a public copyright dispute with Puerto Rican star Bad Bunny over a Joeboy song.

Personal Life

Mr Eazi married actress and entrepreneur Temi Otedola in 2025, across ceremonies held in Monaco, Dubai and Iceland. In May 2026, the couple announced they were expecting their first child together, sharing maternity photos on social media. Weeks earlier, he had jokingly adopted the title “Sir Eazi” after revealing strands of grey hair, attributing it, in part, to married life.

With a career spanning music, entrepreneurship and a growing investment portfolio, Mr Eazi remains one of Nigeria’s most influential figures both on stage and in business.
