Early Life
Judith Kanayo-Opara, professionally known as Judikay, was born on October 26, 1994, in Sango Otta, Ogun State, Nigeria. She is the first child in her family and hails from Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State.
Judikay completed her secondary education at Dalos College in Ota and later earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts from Redeemer’s University, Osun State. Her musical journey began in her local church, Christian Pentecostal Mission, where she served as a chorister.
Career
Judikay started her professional music career in 2013 with her debut single Nobody Else. She continued to grow in the gospel scene and gained national recognition in 2019 with the hit single More Than Gold.
In February 2019, she signed with EeZee Conceptz, a Nigerian gospel label known for promoting powerful worship voices. That same year, she released her debut album Man of Galilee, a 14-track project that marked her arrival as a leading worship minister.
In June 2022, Judikay released her second album From This Heart, which featured songs such as Mudiana, Jesus is Coming, and Your Grace. The album quickly amassed millions of streams and earned her a Boomplay Plaque after reaching 50 million global streams. Her song Capable God topped gospel charts in 2021, further establishing her influence in the gospel space.
Judikay has collaborated with notable gospel artists including Mercy Chinwo, Enkay Ogboruche, and Emmanuel Iren. In January 2023, she featured on the song Delight alongside Enkay.
Judikay continues to lead a generation of worshipers with her spirit-filled music. Her voice, passion, and commitment to gospel ministry have made her a vital figure in African gospel music.
