Nollywood actor Chinedu Okeke has shut down rumors that he left the movie industry because filmmakers repeatedly cast him as a criminal. The actor, known for standout performances in Issakaba, Shina Rambo, V-Boot, and Peace Maker, said action roles built his reputation, not ruined it.
Okeke addressed the false reports during a recent interview. He firmly denied ever expressing frustration about being typecast and made it clear he never complained about the roles that made him famous.
“I never said I was tired of playing armed robbers,” he stated. “Action films gave me recognition. Why would I reject what brought me success? I never made those comments people are circulating.”
He also clarified that he hasn’t left Nollywood and still wants to work. In fact, he’s actively calling on producers to contact him for roles.
“Producers, I’m ready,” he said. “I need work. I’m sitting idle, and I want to get back on screen. Give me any role an armed robber, assassin, even a romantic lead. I’ll take it.”
Okeke emphasized that he has the range and skill to handle any character and wants to prove he’s not limited to a single type.
He also Said “Don’t box me in. I can handle romance, drama, anything. Just bring the script,” he added.
Also, his direct message to the film industry shows his hunger to return, not his retreat. Chinedu Okeke isn’t fading out he’s waiting for the next opportunity to step back into the spotlight and remind audiences why he became a household name in the first place.
