Early Life

Yinka Ayefele was born in Ipoti-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria. He attended Our Saviour’s Anglican Primary School and later studied at Ondo State College of Arts and Science, Ikare Akoko.

Career

He began his professional journey as a broadcaster and jingle producer at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria in Ibadan. In 1997, a tragic automobile accident left him with a spinal cord injury, changing his life forever.

During his recovery, a friend encouraged him to pursue music, leading to the release of his debut album, Bitter Experience, in 1998. The album captured his ordeal and instantly launched his music career. He followed up with Sweet Experience, Something Else, Divine Intervention, and Life After Death, a tribute to the late Gbenga Adeboye.

Ayefele’s sound blends traditional Yoruba rhythms with gospel and juju influences, earning him national recognition and over 200 awards.

He later founded Fresh FM, a thriving network of radio stations operating in Ibadan, Abeokuta, Ado Ekiti, Akure, Osogbo, and Lagos giving a platform to culture, music, and public service.

Yinka Ayefele turned pain into purpose, using his voice and vision to inspire millions across Nigeria. His legacy continues to grow through both his music and media presence.
