Rick Ross has revealed the artists he considers his ultimate dream collaborators for a major musical project.
The rapper and Maybach Music Group executive shared his vision during a recent livestream interview. He explained that his ideal collaboration would bring together legends from reggae, Afrobeat, and modern Afrobeats.
According to Ross, the lineup would include reggae icon Bob Marley, Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti, and contemporary Afrobeats star Burna Boy.
The hip-hop mogul described the potential record as a project that would unite multiple musical eras and cultures.
“If I had a dream collaboration right now, it would be Rick Ross, Bob Marley, Fela Kuti and Burna Boy. Imagine such a record. To me, that’s king-level. That’s next level.”
Rick Ross said the idea represents what he considers a powerful blend of musical influence, combining the revolutionary sounds of the 1970s with modern global Afrobeats success.
The rapper also added another name to his personal wishlist. He revealed that he would love to collaborate with British-Nigerian music icon Sade Adu.
However, Ross admitted that securing such a collaboration might be difficult despite his position in the industry.
“I am the boss but I don’t know if I could get Sade to collaborate with me. I will put that on the wish list. I love Sade. Salute queen.”
The proposed project would span generations of influential music figures. Although Bob Marley and Fela Kuti are no longer alive, their estates have previously approved posthumous collaborations and remixes with contemporary artists.
At the moment, Burna Boy and Sade have not publicly responded to Ross’s comments about the potential collaboration.
Ross concluded by stressing the legendary impact of the artists he mentioned. He said combining their unique styles could create what he described as a “next level” record for the global music industry.
The rapper did not confirm whether any formal discussions have begun with the living artists or the estates representing the late music legends.
