Early Life
Olatunji Oladotun Alade, professionally known as Dotman, was born around 1993 in Agosasa, Ipokia, Ogun State, Nigeria. He comes from the Yoruba ethnic group and grew up in South-Western Nigeria. He attended Abeokuta Grammar School and went on to study Physics Education at the University of Lagos.

While at university, Dotman discovered his talent for music. He won a rap competition on campus, which marked the beginning of his journey in the music industry. Influenced by legendary artists like King Sunny Ade, Fela Kuti, Akon, 9ice, and Da Grin, he began crafting his own distinct sound.
Career
Dotman broke into the music scene with several hit singles including “Akube,” “My Woman,” “Afro Girl,” and “Omoge.” These tracks showcased his ability to fuse Afrobeat with street vibes, making him a fan favorite.
In 2016, he earned spots on industry watchlists such as TooXclusive’s and Vibe.ng’s selections of breakthrough artists for 2017. He performed live at the Big Brother Naija Eviction Show in South Africa in early 2017, further expanding his reach.
In 2020, Dotman also joined Labo Entertainment, a label under the Labo Group owned by Olabisi Akanbi. After a year, he returned to focus fully on his own label, 808 Recordz, where he now leads as CEO, continuing to evolve as both an artist and entrepreneur in the Nigerian music scene.
