Early Life

Bright Ukpabi was born in Lagos but hails from Abia State, Nigeria. His passion for music began early, shaping his path into the Afro-pop scene.

Career

Mr Dutch launched his music career in 2018 with the release of his debut single “She Want.” He followed up in 2019 with “Fire Down,” featuring Reekado Banks. Earlier in 2018, on April 27, he released “Antidote” featuring Solidstar. Later that year, on October 16, he dropped “E No Finish” with Burna Boy, further cementing his presence in the industry.

He continued building his discography with “Better Soup” on April 22, 2019, and “Keys To My Heart” on February 7, 2020. On May 29 of the same year, he released “Mamacita.”

Mr Dutch dropped his debut EP, “Keys To My Heart (Afrique Remix),” on December 11, 2020, featuring Teni, Lava Lava, KLY, and Kidi. He released “Chop Life x2” with Chief Priest on December 3, 2021, and followed with a remix featuring Ceeza Milli on May 26, 2022.

On June 24, 2022, he also collaborated with Kida Kudz on a joint EP titled “World Citizens,” which featured Barry Jhay and Sam Wise. Most recently, on March 17, 2023, he released the “Tornado Ride” EP, a two-track project.

Mr Dutch also established Dutch Dreams Records as a platform for musical innovation and collaboration. The label not only serves as a home for his music but also provides opportunities for emerging talents.

He also introduced a unique genre he calls Afro-Cyborg.
