Early Life
Chuks Joseph, born Odum Chukwuemeka Joseph on January 25 in Kaduna, Nigeria, grew up in Aba, Abia State after his family relocated due to regional unrest. Raised by his grandmother alongside his younger sister, he completed his education at Prize Mates Modela Academy and earned a degree in Microbiology from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri. During his NYSC, he worked as a project assistant with Save The Children in Lagos, completing service in 2019.
Career
Chuks began his professional journey as a model in 2020, placing as the first runner-up in the Mr. Ideal Nigeria pageant. He transitioned into acting with minor roles in series like Riona, Baby Drama, and Papa Benji. To refine his skills, he attended acting programs at Royal Arts Academy and Ebonylife Creative Academy, followed by training at the Africa International Film Festival Acting Masterclass.
He gained widespread attention after starring in Dark October, a Netflix film based on true events, where his performance earned critical acclaim. He later appeared in The Origin: Madam Koi Koi, Leaked, and other prominent projects like Nwanyi Ike, Masquerades of Aniedo, Criminal, and When Love Strikes, which eventually premiered on Amazon Prime.
Chuks also appeared in Afamefuna: An Nwa Boi Story and The Men’s Club: Next Gen, and starred as Divine Douglas in the AI-themed film Makemation. Known for portraying complex and villainous roles, Chuks has been recognized with multiple awards, including Eko Next Rated Actor, Best Actor at NXT Honors, and Emerging Actor of the Year at Gleams Awards.
