Early Life

Ivie Okujaye Egboh, born on 16 May 1987 in Benin City, grew up in a culturally rich household as the youngest of five children. Her father hails from Delta State, while her mother is from Edo State. She spent her early years in Benin before relocating with her family to Abuja. Although many of her relatives worked in the medical field, Ivie pursued her passion for the arts rather than follow the traditional path her parents hoped for.

She began her education at Our Ladies of Apostle Private School and later continued at Queen’s College, Lagos, where her interest in performance deepened. She went on to study Economics at the University of Abuja. Throughout her youth, she nurtured her talents in dance, singing, writing, and stage drama, setting the foundation for her future in entertainment.

Career

Ivie’s creative journey started long before Nollywood noticed her. She spent years performing on stage, refining her craft and building confidence. Her breakthrough came in 2009 when she won the Amstel Malta Box Office (AMBO) reality TV show. This victory propelled her into the spotlight and opened the doors to the film industry.

Her first major cinematic appearance came through Alero’s Symphony, a project that showcased her versatility as an actress and performer. Over the years, Ivie expanded her career into film production, scriptwriting, and activism. Her vibrant energy on screen earned her the nickname “Little Genevieve”, a nod to her resemblance to Genevieve Nnaji. Her talent was further recognized when she won Best Young Actor at the 8th Africa Movie Academy Awards.

In 2015, she married Ezie Egboh, blending her personal and professional life with grace and balance.

Ivie Okujaye continues to evolve as one of Nollywood’s most versatile creatives. Her journey reflects determination, passion, and a commitment to storytelling that inspires fans across Africa.
