Early Life
Kunle Afod hails from Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, and is the first child in a family of four. He began his primary education in Festac, Lagos, before completing it in Owo, Ondo State. He proceeded to Command Secondary School in Jos for his secondary education, before training in theatre under respected figures including Ben Tomoloju, Jide Ogungbade and Jahman Anikulapo.
Career
Kunle Afod began his career within the Awada Kerikeri theatre group, founded by veteran actor Adebayo Salami (Oga Bello), a formative experience that shaped his approach to Yoruba cinema. He went on to build a substantial filmography that includes ‘Wura Ati Fadaka,’ ‘Awolu Ati Awawu,’ ‘Orindola’ and ‘Ijewuru,’ establishing himself as one of the more prolific actors in the Yoruba film industry.
Beyond acting, Kunle Afod is also an active movie producer, with more than 20 films to his credit as a producer, extending his creative influence beyond performance alone into shaping and financing new Yoruba film projects.
Personal Life
Kunle Afod is happily married with children, and has kept much of his family life relatively private while maintaining a visible public profile through his acting and production work.
