Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has been rushed to the hospital after collapsing during a work session. The incident occurred on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, and was linked to extreme physical exhaustion.
According to the actress, she woke up that day feeling lifeless and unable to feel parts of her body. Despite the warning signs, she went to her shop to conduct staff interviews and handle inventory. She later slumped and was taken to the hospital.
Typing from her hospital bed, Martins described the frightening experience.
“Woke up today and couldn’t feel any part of my body. For a second, I felt lifeless,” she wrote.
“I still struggled and went to my stores… and that was when I slumped.”
Doctors carried out over 32 medical tests, including screenings for cancer, fibroids, and major organ functions. All results came back negative. The medical team concluded that her condition was caused by extreme exhaustion and placed her on immediate bed rest.
Martins admitted that she had worked every day throughout December without taking a break, even while her staff was away for the holidays. She described herself as a
“walking corpse working tirelessly to cater for others, forgetting myself.”
Despite the ordeal, the actress expressed gratitude for her life and recovery.
“I will be fine because the God that protects the vulnerable kids I struggle for will never fail me,” she wrote.
Fans and colleagues across the Nigerian film industry have since flooded social media with prayers and well wishes for her speedy recovery.
