Early Life

Bimbo Ademoye, born Abimbola Aisha Ademoye on February 4, 1991, in Lagos, Nigeria, grew up in the southwestern region of the country. After her parents separated when she was just two years old, her father raised her and her elder sister, Adebike Maryam, as a single parent.

She attended Mayflower School for her secondary education and later graduated from Covenant University with a degree in Business Administration. In interviews, Bimbo has often credited her father for fully supporting her passion for acting.

Career And Achievements

Bimbo Ademoye began her acting journey in 2014 with a role in the short film Where Talent Lies, which earned recognition at a major film festival. She credits filmmaker Uduak Isong as her mentor, who played a key role in introducing her to the movie industry.

In 2015, she landed her first feature film role in It’s About Your Husband, also produced by Isong. Her breakthrough came in 2017 with the comedy Backup Wife, which earned her a nomination for Best Actress in a Comedy at a prestigious African film awards ceremony in 2018.

That same year, she co-starred with Stella Damasus in the film Gone and described the experience as a major inspiration in her career. Media outlets named her among the top rising stars to watch, and she received multiple award nominations, including Revelation of the Year, Best New Actress, and Best Lead Role.

Bimbo won Best Supporting Actress at a notable Nollywood award show for her performance in Personal Assistant and received additional nominations for Best Upcoming Actress and Best Kiss in a Movie. Recognized not only for her acting talent but also her fashion sense, she has been celebrated as a style icon by various media platforms.
