Early Life

Grace Jahdiel Benjamin, born Grace Okoduwa, grew up in Ikoyi, Lagos State, Nigeria. She attended Aunty Ayo International School for her primary and secondary education. Driven by both academics and creativity, she later earned a BSc degree in Chemistry.

From childhood, Jahdiel showed signs of musical brilliance. At just five years old, she joined her local church choir, where her passion for music took root. By age thirteen, she had mastered instruments like the piano and keyboard, actively participating in various music groups.

Career

Jahdiel launched her professional music career in 2006. Her debut album Heritage released in 2008, received widespread acclaim and introduced her as a fresh, powerful voice in the Nigerian gospel scene. The album’s success led to a nomination at the Kora Awards in the “Most Promising Artist or Group” category.

In 2010, she released her second album Under Oath, featuring tracks like “Ebube Dike,” “Oh God,” and “Ayaya.” The album solidified her status in gospel music and earned her a nomination at the 2013 Nigeria Gospel Music Awards.

She followed up with her third studio album Majesty in November 2015, showcasing her growth both musically and spiritually. Jahdiel’s ability to blend pop, rock, and African rhythms has made her a standout figure in contemporary gospel. She performs under Loveworld Records and Hammer House Records, a label owned by her husband, gospel artist Eben.

In 2017, her influence earned her a spot on YNaija’s list of “100 Most Influential People in Christian Ministry in Nigeria.

Jahdiel continues to uplift and inspire through her vibrant music and ministry. Her journey reflects purpose, persistence, and a deep commitment to spreading the gospel.
