Early Life
Greatman Ademola Takit, professionally known as Greatman Takit, was born on 11 March 1992 in Surulere, Lagos State. He hails from Kwara State and grew up between Lagos and Abuja. He attended Government Science Secondary School, Pyakasa, and earned a degree from the Federal University of Technology, Minna.
Career
Greatman began singing from an early age but officially entered the music scene in 2011 with his debut single Ain’t Nobody. He followed up with IJO in 2013 and Farewemi in 2014, establishing his unique sound in the gospel space.
In 2016, he dropped his debut EP Wildfire, a 9-track project featuring songs like Jungle Up Here and Run, which showcased his lyrical strength and dynamic style. He later joined the award-winning gospel group The Gratitude, contributing to their energetic sound before going fully independent in 2020.
Greatman continued building momentum with the release of Sound of Rain in 2019. In 2021, he followed up with his second EP Energy, a 7-track collection that confirmed his versatility and powerful messaging.
In July 2023, he featured on the remix of Daddy Wey Dey Pamper by Moses Bliss, alongside Prinx Emmanuel. The song became a massive hit, further solidifying his relevance in contemporary gospel music.
Greatman Takit stands out for his bold fusion of urban gospel, Afrobeat, and soul. With consistent growth, authentic lyrics, and vibrant energy, he continues to reshape the gospel scene for a new generation.
