Veteran gospel musician and evangelist Dunni Olanrewaju, known as Opelope Anointing, has shared her inspiring journey in gospel music and ministry. She said that singing is not just a job for her but a covenant with God. “Singing has become a covenant for me,” she said, adding that God’s support keeps her strong.

She explained why she has been away from the spotlight recently. According to her, every music career has quiet seasons. This does not mean she has stopped working. She released six singles last year, and even though they were not as popular as Opelope Anointing, she remains active. She has two more singles ready for release after her upcoming healthcare program to mark the 25th anniversary of her hit song.

Opelope Anointing began her gospel music journey at age 16. She prayed for grace to write new songs when she realised her choir already knew the songs she brought from her village. Years later, she recorded her first single Adun Igbeyawo. Her big breakthrough came in 2000 when Opelope Anointing became a huge success.

Aside from music, she is also a church planter. She started her church in December 1996 after the Holy Spirit told her to do so. Today, she leads Opelope Anointing Praise Victory Headquarters. She is grateful for the grace to serve as both an evangelist and a singer, touching lives through her ministry and songs.
