Fast-rising teenage Afrobeats star Muyeez has officially announced the upcoming release of his debut studio album, titled Seventeen, marking a major milestone in his rapidly growing career.
The announcement follows the release of his latest single, “17,” produced by Larry Lanes. The track was released under NSNV Inc and global music company Empire and serves as a thematic introduction to the full-length project, which is scheduled for a summer 2026 release. The song reflects Muyeez’s personal growth, creative discipline, and journey through sudden fame.
Speaking on the inspiration behind the song and album, the singer emphasized the importance of his age, culture, and background in shaping the project.
“This song represents where I am right now: young, ambitious, and deeply connected to my roots. Being 17 is a unique moment in life, and I wanted to capture that energy while honouring the street culture and Nigerian music traditions that shaped me.”
Muyeez, a protégé of hitmaker Seyi Vibez, has previously released EPs such as Muyeez and Hat-Trick. Industry partners describe his debut album as a comprehensive body of work designed to strengthen his mainstream presence. The project blends traditional Afrobeats with modern Yoruba influences, including the Fuji-inflected melodies that define his sound.
In support of the album, the singer is preparing for a high school and campus tour across Nigeria and West Africa. The tour aims to connect directly with his core audience while highlighting the social realities and ambition that shape his lyrical storytelling.
