Ayjay bobo is a Nigerian artist who emerged from Abuja’s underground circuit, where a new strain of sound often referred to as Nepopiano has been taking shape among a wave of young tastemakers and self-starters.
He began by releasing his own songs and small projects, building a following online and across streaming platforms before his breakthrough came with “HOW FAR,” a collaboration with NO11 and Monochrome released December 31, 2025, that travelled swiftly across TikTok before spilling into the wider streaming world.
“HOW FAR” became a defining record in the Afronepo (Nepopiano) movement, a sound built around the amapiano log-drum heartbeat paired with a flashier, soft-life rollout energy associated with a new generation of Abuja artists unafraid of luxury and visibility.
Since the success of “HOW FAR,” Ayjay bobo has continued releasing music including “Sobobo,” the album Bobo Want 2 Sobobo, and the EP Bobo Dey Hot, steadily building a catalogue that reflects his place at the center of Abuja’s new wave.
