Omawumi Megbele, better known as Omawumi, was born on April 13, 1982, in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria. She hails from a mixed ethnic background, with her mother being from the Itsekiri tribe, and her father from the Urhobo tribe. Omawumi’s musical talent emerged at a young age, and she began singing in church and participating in school choirs. She attended the University of Benin, where she graduated with a law degree, but her passion for music led her to pursue a career in entertainment.
