Early Life
Abidemi Ayodeji Ogunmolu, popularly known as Bidemi Olaoba, was born into a Christian family of six in Lagos, Nigeria. His roots trace back to Ikale Okitipupa in Ondo State.
He studied Civil Engineering at Yaba College of Technology, Lagos, and later pursued a degree in Economics at the University of Lagos. His early exposure to gospel music and faith laid the foundation for his unique musical style.
Career
Bidemi began his music career as a worship leader at Christ Apostolic Church. His deep involvement in the CAC Music Ministry and later with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) helped shape his dynamic gospel sound.
In 2016, he officially launched his professional career with the release of his debut single, Final Say. Known for his signature phrase “The Bible Says,” Bidemi blended Gospel HighLife with Fuji rhythms to create a sound that resonates across generations.
His performance at RCCG’s Marathon Praise earned him wider recognition. Since then, he has released six studio singles, two live performance albums, and collaborated with top gospel artists. In 2020, he pioneered Unrestricted Praise, a virtual concert series that featured renowned ministers such as Tope Alabi, Mike Abdul, Buchi, and others.
Bidemi has taken his music beyond Nigeria, performing in Europe, America, and other African countries. In 2024, he performed at The Experience 19, one of Africa’s largest gospel events, themed “Jesus Wins.” He has also ministered at major gatherings like Marathon Messiah’s Praise, Festival of Life, MASS, HI-Impact Praise, and COZA.
Bidemi Olaoba continues to redefine gospel praise with his energetic Fuji-infused worship. His journey reflects a blend of tradition, innovation, and unwavering devotion to spreading the gospel through music.
