Early Life
Erhiga Agarivbie, popularly known as Erigga, was born on 30 March 1987 in Warri, Delta State. He grew up as the first of five children and attended Standard International School for both primary and secondary education. Life in Warri strongly influenced his lyrical style and storytelling approach.
Career
Erigga kicked off his music career in 2010. He collaborated with producers like Mr Nolimit, C Major, Beatsbymellow, and Prinx Emmanuel to develop his signature sound. He introduced himself to the music scene with “Mo Street Gan,” a street anthem whose video gained major traction and later became Radio Continental’s theme song.
In 2013, he released “Coupé Décalé” featuring Shuun Bebe, followed by the 2014 single “Love No Be Garri” featuring Jimoh Waxiu. These songs solidified his presence in the Nigerian music space.
On 17 July 2017, Erigga dropped his album A Trip to the South, which featured artists like Orezi, Skales, and Duncan Mighty. He followed up with “Motivation” in 2018, a collaboration with Victor AD that resonated deeply with fans.
In 2019, he delivered The Erigma 2, an 18-track album featuring heavyweights like MI Abaga, Zlatan, Ice Prince, and Vector. The album showcased his versatility and lyrical growth, with production led by Mr Nolimit and others.
By 2025, Erigga earned the Best Rap Album award at The Headies for his critically acclaimed project Family Time, marking a major milestone in his enduring career.
