Early Life

Afolabi Emmanuel Fagbemi, popularly known as Folabi Nuel, was born on 7 January 1992 in Lagos State, Nigeria. He discovered his love for music early, singing in the church choir and later writing songs as a teenager in secondary school. Music became an outlet for personal expression and connection with God. He earned a degree from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, and later obtained an MBA in International Business from a university in Spain. He married Gboremi in September 2022.

Career

Folabi Nuel launched his music career in 2015 with his debut single God of Heaven, which topped charts like Rhythm 93.7FM and Holy Holla. He followed this with Everlasting and My Heart, gaining recognition for his soothing sound and heartful worship.

His debut album Good God arrived in 2017, paving the way for the live worship album Hunger From Our Heart to Yours in 2020, which featured major gospel artists including TY Bello, Freke Umoh, and Nosa. In July 2022, he released Revival Is In The Air (RIITA), an album that inspired a spiritual awakening through sound.

Folabi also explored love and intimacy through his 2020 EP Songs From My Bedroom and the 2022 Bobibi EP, released on his wedding day. The latter featured Timi Dakolo, Remii, and Johnny Drille on tracks like 911 and Be Mine.

In April 2023, he released He’s Alive, a worship anthem featuring Sunmisola Agbebi.

Folabi Nuel’s music blends personal honesty with worshipful depth, creating a sound that is intimate, modern, and spiritually uplifting. He continues to lead a new wave of contemporary gospel in Africa.
