Early Life

HUZIEL grew up in a devout Christian household, where music was a constant presence.His grandfather founded the first indigenous church in their village, and instruments were readily available in the home a fertile ground for his creative spark.

He started playing drums at around age seven and later picked up the keyboard and lead guitar during his secondary school years.

While attending university, HUZIEL discovered music production in his second year and made the bold decision to leave in his 300-level in 2021 to pursue music full-time.

Career

Under his stage name HUZIEL (or HUZIEL X), he launched his professional music career with a focus on storytelling and authenticity.

He formally introduced himself with his debut EP “Pigments of the Story”, released August 21 2025, which he described as his invitation to the world an honest narrative of his life, his voice, and his perspective.

HUZIEL characterises his sound as “generic and honest,” aiming to create music that resonates universally yet remains deeply personal. His songwriting and production reflect his early exposure to gospel instruments and church worship, blending that with modern Afro-fusion elements.

While still emerging, HUZIEL has also started making waves with his carefully crafted sound and his clear ambition to leave a mark on the Nigerian music scene.
