Early Life
Hyce, born Favour Ekah Ernest on March 13, 2001, in Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria, is a dynamic Nigerian singer, songwriter, and performer. Raised in Ajegunle, Lagos State, he developed a passion for music early on, influenced by his father’s role as a pastor and his exposure to church music.
Career
Hyce launched his music career in 2020 and quickly caught attention with his debut single, “Owo” featuring Soundz. In 2022, he skyrocketed to fame with the viral hit “Vanilla,” which exploded on TikTok and firmly placed him in the spotlight as a rising force in the Afrobeats scene.
In May 2024, he teamed up with Boypee and Brown Joel for the chart-topping single “Ogechi.” The track, later remixed with Afrobeats icon Davido, amplified Hyce’s influence across the industry. Released just days before Davido’s wedding, the remix dominated social media and became Nigeria’s most searched song lyrics of 2024, confirming Hyce’s growing cultural relevance.
Fusing Afrobeats, R&B, and pop, Hyce crafts soulful, emotionally rich tracks that reflect influences from artists like Wizkid, Wande Coal, and Davido. His music speaks to a wide audience, while his active presence on platforms like TikTok keeps fans engaged and connected to his evolving journey.
As of early 2025, Hyce continues to gain momentum, with new collaborations and releases on the horizon that aim to push his artistry even further and solidify his status among Nigeria’s Afrobeats elite.
