Early Life

Moshood Abdulmuiz, known professionally as Muyeez, was born on 27 May 2007 in Lagos State, Nigeria, and is of Yoruba origin. He was born and raised in Lagos, where his interest in music began at just eight years old. Long before signing any record deal, he spent his early teenage years sharing freestyle videos on Instagram and TikTok, gradually building an online following through his voice and delivery.

Career

Muyeez’s freestyles caught the attention of Seyi Vibez, who signed him to his Vibez Inc. label. In April 2024, the pair released “Instagram,” a lighthearted two-minute record about teenage romance and online life that topped Apple Music’s Nigeria chart within 24 hours of release and became one of the most popular street songs of the year. The song’s music video, filmed partly at Muyeez’s own school, helped fuel its viral spread and introduced him to a national audience almost overnight.

The success of “Instagram” made Muyeez one of the youngest artists in Nigeria to achieve a number-one streaming hit, with critics and listeners frequently comparing his vocal delivery and freestyle instincts to Olamide. His music, much of it delivered in Nigerian Pidgin English, has resonated strongly with a young audience, and he continues to build his catalogue under the mentorship of Seyi Vibez and the Vibez Inc. imprint.
