Early Life

Ime Bishop Umoh was Born August 30, 1983, he has become a household name in Nollywood, especially in comic roles that resonate with a wide range of audiences.

Hailing from Nsit Ibom in Akwa Ibom State, Ime Bishop Umoh is of Ibibio descent. He studied Philosophy at the University of Uyo, where he nurtured his passion for the performing arts. His interest in acting began during childhood, and over the years, he has appeared in more than 100 movies.

Career

His breakthrough came in 2008 with the release of Uyai, an indigenous film produced by Emem Isong. However, it was his performance in the 2011 hit movie Okon Lagos that catapulted him into national fame. The film’s success earned him the nickname “Okon Lagos,” a name that has stuck with him ever since.

Despite personal challenges, including the loss of his mother, Ime Bishop has remained resilient and committed to his craft. His natural comedic timing and ability to portray relatable characters have endeared him to fans across Nigeria and beyond.

Ime Bishop Umoh serves as a brand ambassador for GLO Nigeria, using his popularity to represent one of the country’s major telecommunications companies.

In 2016, Ime Bishop was appointed as a Special Assistant to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Gabriel Emmanuel, focusing on Ethical and Social Reorientation.

Ime Bishop Umoh has carved a niche in Nollywood with his comedic brilliance and vibrant performances. Beyond the screen, he remains a cultural icon and influential voice in Nigerian entertainment and society.
