Early Life
Sonia Uche was born on May 25, 1995, and spent her early years in Delta State, Nigeria. She began her education at Anioi Primary School in Ibusa and later attended St. Augustine College in the same town for her junior secondary schooling. Pursuing higher education, she enrolled at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture in 2018. That same year, she completed her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program in Abuja.
Career
Sonia Uche entered the Nigerian film industry in 2019 but began nurturing her passion for acting while still in university. Her breakthrough came when she auditioned and landed a role in the film Complicated, where she shared the screen with Nollywood legends like Olu Jacobs and Patience Ozokwor. The film marked her official debut and established her presence in the industry.
She gained wider recognition with her performance in Frank’s Wife, playing a naive village girl a role that showcased her emotional range and authenticity. Since then, Sonia has continued to grow her filmography, working alongside renowned actors such as Mercy Johnson and Pete Edochie.
Beyond acting, Sonia is also an entrepreneur. She owns and manages a hair extension business known as Sonia Hair Extensions, reflecting her interest in beauty and fashion. Her ability to balance business and acting has made her a rising figure in Nollywood.
