Popular Afrobeats singer Zinoleesky has opened up about his journey into music. The singer shared that he did many “crazy” things just to follow his dream. One of those was running away from home.
In a recent interview with SB Live, Zinoleesky spoke about how hard it is for young people in Nigeria to choose music as a career. He said Nigerian parents often prefer their children to study professional courses or learn a trade. He explained, “Nigerian parents are always in denial whenever you what to do stuffs like music. They want you to do a professional course or learn a trade. So, you just have to find a way. Me, I did some crazy stuffs. I ran away from home to do music.”
Zinoleesky, whose real name is Oniyide Azeez, did not allow fear to stop him. He revealed that he started his career as a rapper before switching to singing. According to him, his passion for music was too strong to ignore.
