Pastor Abel Damina, the founder of Abel Damina Ministries International, has issued a sharp rebuke against Pastor Korede Komaiya, following a controversial viral video in which the latter declared his refusal to follow any spiritual leader who is poor.
The dispute erupted on Monday, January 26, 2026, after a video circulated online showing Komaiya, the Presiding Pastor of Master’s Place International Church, stating:
| “I will never follow a poor pastor.”
Damina, known for his vocal opposition to prosperity-centered doctrines, responded by accusing Komaiya of promoting greed and misleading the Christian faithful.

He argued that the true foundation of the gospel is “godliness with contentment,” rather than material accumulation.
Damina further criticized the logic of equating wealth with spiritual authority, suggesting that Komaiya’s stance is a product of a “mindset still battling poverty.” He accused the pastor of using the financial contributions of his followers to sustain a lifestyle that he then uses to dismiss those in lower financial brackets.

He also challenged Komaiya’s interpretation of the book of Proverbs to support his claims, asserting that:
