The mother of 12-year-old Anuoluwapo, at the center of a long-running paternity dispute involving Afrobeats star Davido, has responded publicly to claims made by his father, Dr. Adedeji Adeleke.
Her statement comes after a press conference in which Dr. Adeleke said multiple DNA tests proved Davido is not Anu’s father. In a written statement online, Anu’s mother, Ayo Labinjoh, rejected the family’s position and accused them of attempting to intimidate her.
“DR DEJI ADELEKE: YOU CANNOT INTIMIDATE US SIR.”
She questioned why Dr. Adeleke was speaking on his son’s behalf and demanded that Davido address her directly.
“Sir, as the Patriarch of the family you should not be talking on David’s behalf.
I’m not Sophia negotiating child support etc.
Let David address me.”
Labinjoh also disputed claims that her family had been in contact with the Adeleke household for years and denied multiple DNA tests had been conducted.
“To my shock my own sister Titi Labinjoh reportedly has been talking to Dr Deji Adeleke since the pandemic about what?
… What about Anu who has to endure everything?”
She further accused the family of using influence and money to monitor her and her relatives.
“David is obviously a boy and not a man.
It took money for you to use a family member of ours to spy on us.”
Labinjoh warned of possible consequences if harm came to her or her family.
“If anything happens to me, my daughter and mom,
the police should hold you responsible.”
The paternity dispute resurfaced after Anu made a public appeal for a fresh DNA test, citing years of bullying. As of press time, Davido has not responded personally to Labinjoh’s statements.
