Early Life
Okafor Uchenna Victor, popularly known by his stage name Mr Real, is a Nigerian rapper and singer born on 8 September 1996 in Lagos State, Nigeria.
Hailing from an Anambra State background (Okija), he developed a gritty, street-hop style rooted in his Lagos upbringing.
Career
He rose to prominence in 2017 after releasing the viral street anthem “Legbegbe”, a song that popularized the “Shaku Shaku” dance style and became widely embraced across Nigeria.
In 2018, he signed a record deal with Sony Music Entertainment Africa.Mr Real has collaborated with many prominent artists in the Nigerian music scene, including Slimcase, Idowest, CDQ, Mr Eazi, D’banj, and others.
He also released an extended play titled General of All Lamba (GOAL) in January 2020, featuring tracks like “Baba Fela,” “Onigbese,” and “Lambalimolanba.”
Beyond his music, Mr Real has been outspoken on industry issues. In recent commentary, he lamented the rampant intellectual property theft within Afrobeats, especially affecting emerging artists.
He has also publicly criticized fellow artists over alleged song theft and financial disagreements.
