Early Life
Born Enock Aghatise in 1992, Skiibii hails from Edo State, Nigeria. He began exploring music during his high school years, starting out as a rapper before transitioning into singing. His journey into the professional music scene began when he joined 5 Star Music, a label founded by Kcee of the former group KC Presh. There, Skiibii worked as a backup singer and dancer, sharpening his skills and building his confidence on stage.
His breakout came with the release of his smash hit “Sensima” featuring Reekado Banks, a song that racked up millions of streams and catapulted him into the spotlight. The success of “Sensima” firmly established Skiibii as one of the most sought-after artists in the Nigerian music industry.
Career
Skiibii officially launched his music career in 2015 after impressing at an audition for 5 Star Music. He debuted as a solo act with the track “Skiibii” in 2017, which quickly gained traction. He followed up with chart-topping songs like “London” featuring MI, Kizz Daniel, and Teni, further showcasing his versatility.
His biggest commercial success to date remains “Sensima”, which has earned over 10 million views on YouTube and streams across digital platforms. In 2019, Skiibii earned a Headies Award nomination for the hit. His rising profile has also seen him featured in major publications such as Rolling Stone, Vibe, and The Fader. Across Apple Music, Spotify, and other platforms, his songs have collectively garnered over 10 million streams.
