Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, billionaire father of Afrobeats superstar Davido, has spoken publicly about the long-running paternity dispute involving 12-year-old Anuoluwapo. He stated that multiple DNA tests have confirmed Davido is not the child’s father.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, January 21, Dr. Adeleke revealed that the family conducted five DNA tests over several years. According to him, the results consistently showed a 0.00% probability of paternity, dismissing claims made by the child’s mother, Ayotomide Labinjo.
“Immediately I read the letter [in 2014],
even before speaking to David,
I called the woman.
I told her I hadn’t spoken to my son yet,
but if the child was truly my granddaughter,
she had no problem with me.
I would welcome her into my family happily,”
Dr. Adeleke said.
He added:
“The test result returned a 0.00 per cent match.”
The issue resurfaced after Anuoluwapo made an emotional appeal on social media for another DNA test to end years of bullying. In response, Dr. Adeleke explained that earlier tests were conducted with the child’s grandmother present and samples were sent to South Africa for transparency.
He also addressed allegations involving his nephew, B-Red, confirming that DNA tests were conducted for him as well to remove all doubt.
“I told [Davido] I don’t want to know anything.
If this girl is our child,
I will take her,”
the patriarch stated, noting that he already has 14 grandchildren and has no reason to reject a child.
Dr. Adeleke further accused some social media personalities of exploiting the situation for financial gain. He warned of possible legal action over the unauthorized publication of private DNA profiles.
He concluded by saying that while the family empathizes with the child, “science has already settled it.”
