Frank Edoho Fires Back at Lawyer Over WWTBAM Claims

Broadcaster Frank Edoho has denied allegations suggesting that his departure from the iconic quiz show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? (WWTBAM) was caused by personal marital problems.

The veteran host addressed the claims during a heated exchange on the social media platform X. During the online confrontation, Edoho rejected suggestions that sponsors withdrew from the show because of his private life.

The dispute began when a user identified as Foundational Nupe Lawyer (@egi_nupe___) commented on Edoho’s current career path. The user suggested that seeing the former quiz show host promote sports betting platforms was disappointing.

“The generation that didn’t witness Frank Edoho as the host of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire will not understand how bad one feels seeing him on TV again but promoting [sports betting].”

During the conversation, another user asked why the original show stopped airing. In response, the lawyer speculated that Edoho’s marital situation may have played a role.

“I think the sponsors pulled out and he had some marital issues then.”

However, Edoho strongly rejected the claim. The broadcaster insisted that his personal life had nothing to do with the show’s sponsorship or production decisions.

“Sponsors pulled out because I had marital issues? 🤣🤣🤣 Since we are being stupid, why didn’t your Father pull out when you were conceived? After all, he didn’t really like your Mother. Tw@t.”

The exchange escalated further when another user, identified as Codexxx, posted allegations about domestic abuse. Edoho responded by threatening legal action against the individual.

“When I track you and arrest you and take you to court, you’ll bring people to beg for you but I won’t budge. I’ll take the little you have from you and I will not relent. Tweet another sentence and see.”

Frank Edoho has previously explained that his exit from Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? in 2017 resulted from a contract disagreement. According to the broadcaster, negotiations broke down after he requested an executive producer role. He therefore maintains that professional issues—not personal controversies—led to the show’s hiatus.
