Slimcase, the Shaku Shaku hitmaker, has announced a bold career move: he is ready to leave music behind to focus entirely on acting. The singer, born Oluwafemi Oladapo, shared in a recent interview that Nollywood has embraced him in ways the music industry no longer does, and he feels it is time to explore this path fully.

He explained that while many of his colleagues in music are busy with their own projects, the movie industry has welcomed him with open arms. This support has encouraged him to shift his attention from music to film, a move he describes as exciting and necessary.

“I love acting in movies, and funny enough, most of my colleagues in the music industry are busy with their own things, so I can’t be looking for any artiste. But the movie industry welcomed me, so I thought that since many artistes are too busy promoting their work, I would move to the movie industry. Now, I really want to be an actor. I’m done with this music thing; I don tire.”

Slimcase also revealed that his collaborations with movie stars like Iyabo Ojo, Odunlade Adekola, Femi Adebayo, and Tobi Bakre have further deepened his interest in Nollywood. These experiences, he says, have inspired him to explore storytelling in films rather than only performing music.

His new single, “Ko Scary Mo,” reflects this shift, with the lyrics emphasizing creativity and fresh narratives in the movie industry. The song embodies the energy and optimism he hopes to carry into his acting career.

“Ko Scary Mo is my new jam, and it talks about the movie industry and how people need more movie storylines. Nothing is new to Gen Zs anymore, so we need something exceptional in our movie industry. That is what the intro talks about, while the rest of the song is all about good vibes.”

Fans are now eagerly anticipating Slimcase’s next moves, curious to see how the entertainer will redefine himself as an actor and bring his unique flair to the big screen.
