There is a new controversy in the Fuji music scene. This time, it involves two of the genre’s biggest legends: General Kollington Ayinla and Kwam 1. What once seemed like a respectful bond has turned into a battle over who truly leads Fuji music.

In March, Kollington Ayinla spoke in an interview with Agbaletu TV. He said clearly that Kwam 1 can never become the head of the genre while he is still alive. At first, the interview didn’t get much attention. But a month later, Kwam 1 also appeared on the same platform. He talked about his role in shaping the sound and culture. He said he registered it as a genre and even wrote its constitution. Although he didn’t call himself the leader, many people believed he was claiming that role.

Kollington was not happy about this. He said, “If he wants to be the head, he should just kill me. Without that, he can’t become the head. It’s impossible.” He made it clear that he and the late Sikiru Ayinde Barrister were the ones who truly built the style. He also said that if Barrister had ever handed the title to Kwam 1, he would have told everyone.

Kollington denied the rumour that Barrister crowned Kwam 1 as leader. “That’s just a rumour and rebellion,” he said. He pointed to a song where Barrister only praised himself and Kollington for lifting the sound to fame.

Now, with both legends in the spotlight again, the battle for Fuji leadership continues. Whether this is just another episode or something deeper, one thing is clear. The struggle for Fuji supremacy is far from over.
