Career
Francis Odega began his career in comedy and acting long before the digital age made viral fame possible. He emerged as one of the original performers in the groundbreaking Nigerian comedy show Night of a Thousand Laughs, where his energetic performances helped shape the landscape of Nigerian stand-up comedy.
Although he had been in the entertainment industry for years, Francis gained widespread recognition after a hilarious video clip of him speaking in an exaggerated American accent surfaced online. The clip was from the movie series Back From South Africa and quickly caught the attention of international celebrities, including rapper 50 Cent and British artist Tinie Tempah, who shared it on social media. This exposure brought Francis into the global spotlight and opened doors to new opportunities.
His sudden rise in popularity led to endorsement deals, most notably with telecommunications giant Etisalat, where he served as a brand ambassador.
