Early Life and Education
Carolyna Hutchings, formerly known as Caroline Danjuma, was born in Scotland to a Scottish father and a Nigerian mother.
She was born 26 of June 1987, She grew up in Nigeria as the eldest of three children. Carolyna earned a Bachelorโs degree in Geographical and Regional Planning from the University of Calabar and later obtained a Masterโs in International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Lagos. She also completed an MBA from Edinburgh Business School in the UK.
Career
Carolyna entered Nollywood in 2004, introduced by Chico Ejiro through actress Rita Dominic. She made her debut in Deadly Care and went on to feature in several successful films including Deadly Kiss, Missing Angel, The Captor, Real Love, Foreign Affairs, A Second Time, and The Beast and the Angel. She later starred in the psychological thriller Stalker alongside Jim Iyke and Nse Ikpe Etim.
Beyond acting, Carolyna has built a diverse portfolio in construction, interior design, oil and gas, and philanthropy. In 2022, she took a bold step into politics as a governorship running mate in Akwa Ibom State.
She founded the Hopeville Foundation, an NGO that supports women with fertility challenges, children with birth defects, and campaigns for girl child education and womenโs empowerment.
Carolyna married Musa Danjuma in 2007, with whom she has three children. The couple separated in 2016.
